Wilted Swiss Chard

Ingredients

  • 1 large bunch swiss chard, rough chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, sliced
  • 4 tbsp water
  • pinch of dried crushed red pepper or cayenne
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the chard well and remove the tough centers of each stalk.
  2. Roughly chop the leaves.
  3. Heat a large saucepan (or wok) to medium heat and saute the garlic and crushed pepper in 2 tbsp water and 1 tbsp butter for about 1 min.
  4. Add swiss chard leaves and cover, adding water as needed to keep it fry drying out. Check after about 5 min, stirring if needed.
  5. Stir, cover again and cook for 5 more min.
  6. Add salt and butter to taste.
