Notes — A Christmas classic. They’re not grandma’s recipe, which I need to find. I like to cut them in star shapes. (unknown kcal/recipe)
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
- 2 cups white sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a large mixer, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Wrap in wax paper in a flat square shape and chill for at least one hour.
- Preheat oven to 400˚F
- Roll out dough on floured surface, 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut into shapes.
- Bake 6-8 minutes in preheated oven
